By Car

Airole is accessible via the A10 motorway (Italy) or A8 (France). From the Ventimiglia exit, follow the SS20 inland.

IMPORTANT: Airole is a medieval village with narrow streets. It's best to park in one of the public parking lots at the edge of the village (about 100m from the apartment).

By Plane

The nearest airport is Nice (France), about 59 km away. Alternatively, you can arrive via Genoa.

- From Nice Airport: Rental car, shuttle service, or train to Ventimiglia, then on to Airole

- From Genoa Airport: Train to Ventimiglia with a change in Genoa, then on to Airole

- Tip: A local shuttle service to/from Nice Airport can be booked in Airole

By Train

Airole has its own small train station on the Ventimiglia-Cuneo line, only about 120 meters from Casa di Barbara.

- For larger shopping trips, we recommend the supermarkets in Ventimiglia (about 15 minutes by car)

The Best Times to Visit Airole

Airole and the surrounding region can be visited year-round, with each season having its own charm:

Spring (April - June)

One of the most beautiful times to visit Airole. Temperatures are pleasantly mild (15-25°C), the landscape is green and blooming, and tourist flows are still moderate. Ideal for hiking and excursions in the surroundings.

Summer (July - August)

High season with warm temperatures (25-35°C). Ideal for beach visits to the nearby Mediterranean coast. In Airole itself, it's often more pleasant than on the coast thanks to the altitude and the thick stone walls of the houses.
